Istat, marriages grow in eight years
The desire to get married resumes: well over 9,000 more wedding in twelve months

ROME - In 2010, 473,438 children were registered in birth certificates, over 12,000 less than 2015, but marriages grow
. Within 8 years (from 2008 to 2016), births declined by more than 100,000. This is what emerges from the Istat 'birth rate and fertility ratio of the resident population - year 2016. This decline is fundamentally due to two factors: Italian women in reproductive age are getting fewer and show a decreasing propensity to have children. Children born in one case on three from unmarried couples.

Growth, however, is the marriages that have touched the minimum in 2014, year. Since 2015, they have resumed growth (+4,612 compared to the previous year), and the trend grew steadily in 2016 (+9,000), the year in which the threshold of 200,000 celebrations was again exceeded.
The bond between births and births is still very strong in our country (in 2016, 70% of births occur within the marriage);
